Nissan Wins 2015 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year 4th Consecutive Year

ENERGY STAR logo

Nissan is once again the winner of the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award – the automaker has received the Sustained Excellence Award again this year by organizations that are dedicated to protecting the environment by making their operations more energy efficient. John Martin, Senior Vice President, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management and Purchasing, said: “Since Nissan became an ENERGY STAR partner in 2006, we have made continual improvements to our operations, which has helped us reduce both our environmental footprint and manufacturing costs. In 2014 those improvements reduced the amount of energy required to build vehicles by 13% – that’s the same amount of energy it would take to power more than 5,400 homes for an entire year.” If you would like to read the full article please click on the link below:

Nissan delivers 75,000th all-electric LEAF in the U.S.

Nissan recently celebrated yet another milestone, only this time it was an accomplishment that took place in the United States. The Japanese automaker sold its 75,000 Nissan LEAF model in the U.S. to a family in Oregon. Rishabh Mehandru of Portland, Oregon was the lucky purchaser of the black LEAF, which happens to be his second LEAF after leasing his first one two years ago. “I’m a runner, and when I ran outside I found that I was inhaling a lot of exhaust from the gas-powered cars that passed me on the roads. I instantly became aware of the amount of fuel I was burning and that’s when I first decided that I wanted to get an electric car.” If you would like to read the full article please click on the link below:
