Nissan Sentra gives you the Best of Both Worlds

The 2014 Nissan Sentra provides excellent fuel economy in a roomy, comfortable car that is a lot of fun to drive. Nissan was able to put this all together by developing everything from exterior aerodynamics that whisper through the wind to a powerful, 1.8- liter engine teamed with a virtually gearless CVT transmission that helps maximize efficiency and performance. The PUREDRIVE badge also means that Sentra meets or exceeds the industry-average USD Federal CAFÉ standards for model-year 2016. Additionally, the Sentra is just one of a family of the PUREDRIVE vehicles, reflecting Nissan’s commitment to developing more environmentally friendly transportation for all of us. With the Eco Pedal in the Sentra, you are equipped with a smarter way to drive – it is the instrument cluster that gives you instant feedback on how you’re driving, helping you become a smarter, more efficient driver. Nissan LEAF Carwings to Receive Modifications

Nissan LEAF owners have been able to manage their charging schedule and check their charging status through a communication system called Carwings. This technology was offered to the first LEAF owners of the first U.S. mass produced electric vehicles – this app allows drivers to get familiarized with their vehicle and establish a charging routine. In the first year of production, this application was very useful, however, now, almost four years later, the Japanese automaker plans to get more from the Carwings app. Nissan plans to get Carwings to provide information about the battery’s health so that the owner is aware of what its current state is. This idea surfaced after several LEAF customers, living in hot-weather locations, complained that their LEAF batteries were losing capacity at faster rates than usual. In-Depth Look at the Nissan Leaf

The electric vehicle  that has taken the world by storm has allowed us to take a closer look into the actual components that make up the zero emission vehicle. Interestingly enough, most of its components are shipped from overseas – in fact, only 15% of the Nissan LEAF components come from within our country and 80% comes from Japan. However people have been taking notice which is why Nissan has decided to increase the number of components used that are made in America for the next LEAF model. Today, the assembly plant for the Nissan LEAF resides in Tennessee so there is high hope that the percentage of ‘made in America’ parts will increase in the near future. Brian Brockman, Senior Manager of Corporate Communications for Nissan, commented that the percentage of the next LEAF model will be comparable to other US-built advanced vehicle technologies. Self-Driving Cars in 2018 for Nissan

Nissan recently announced that self-driving vehicle may not be too far out in the future. In fact, they think these vehicles can be on the road in as little as four years from now. All due thanks to GPS positioning, cameras and sensors Nissan was able to create their own prototype vehicle which enables drivers to completely let go of controls at speeds traveling below 30 KM/HR. “The problem isn’t technology, its legislation, and the whole question of responsibility that goes with these cars moving around. Especially who is responsible once there is no longer anyone inside the vehicle,” commented, Carlos Ghosn, the head of Renault-Nissan alliance. Nonetheless, he believes strongly that the first self-driving vehicles will hit the open roads in 2018 in pioneering countries: France, Japan and the United States.
