Nissan Now Offers Free Public Charging for New LEAF buyers in Atlanta

As customers flood local stores this week looking for Black Friday deals, Nissan is offering Atlanta buyers of the all-electric LEAF its own money-saving holiday special: no cost public charging for two years. “Atlanta is America’s biggest market for LEAF, and access to free public charging can enhance the convenience electric car and motivate additional consumers to make the switch to Nissan LEAF,” said Brendan Jones, director, Nissan Electric Vehicle Sales and Infrastructure. “As the top-selling electric car brand, Nissan is actively working with key partners to ramp up charging infrastructure in Metro Atlanta to make more charging options available for the thousands of area LEAF owners.” Atlanta has been a crucial LEAF market since mid-2013 due to a variety and high occupancy toll lanes and a number of major companies who now provide workplace charging for their employees. Nissan Gives Your Rearview Mirror a New Purpose

Rearview cameras will be required on all new cars by May 2018; however, Nissan has taken the next step forward by adding the benefits of a camera to the rearview mirror. Nissan is calling this the “Smart Rearview Mirror” – although it may appear to look like a standard mirror, the driver is able to flip a switch in order to get a much clearer view of what is behind the car. This makes it easy to see behind tall passengers, headrests and piles of suitcases. The mirror meets federal regulations and is available if the camera ever fails, or if the customer prefers to go old school. Nissan Facility is Largest Automotive Plant in North America

Everyone in the automotive industry has tapped the brakes in October for the third straight month, slowing the North American’s overall manufacturing output; however, Nissan’s Smyrna plant is doing the complete opposite of that. Justin Saia, Corporate Communications Manager, Nissan North America, said: “The Smyrna plant is actually the largest producing automotive plant in North America through the first 10 months of the calendar year, with production up nearly 14% year-over-year.” Sources reported that auto production fell 1.2% in October, 1.9% in September and 7.2% in August; despite the downfall in production, auto sales were strong in October. Nissan Group is the Fastest Growing Auto Manufacturer in Canada

Nissan has reported that as of November 13 of this year, it has reached the milestone of 100,000 Canadian units sold in a calendar year. This also reflects an increase in the sales numbers for the past ten months. Recent Enhancements to Nissan Certified Collision Repair Program

Nissan recently announced that there have been improvements to the Nissan Certified Collision Repair Network Program. The program has been re-launched and redesigned to be consumer focused and tie Nissan vehicle owners with Nissan Certified Collision Repair Providers. Nissan is implanting this new program to enhance the relationships between Certified Shops within the network and Nissan Owners. The Nissan Collision Repair Network combines Shop Certification, consumer awareness and education elements, along with shop locators to ensure that Nissan customers can locate the Certified repairer wherever and whenever they might need one. “In some cases, Nissan customers have endured a collision repair experience – and the resulting repairs – that have been controlled by third parties who don’t necessarily have the customer’s best interests in mind,” said Mark Zoba, Collision Parts Manager, Nissan North America.  “Nissan values our customers and is willing to do whatever we can to enhance our customer’s experience. Nissan to Continue Multi-Year Sponsorship with NBC’s “The Voice”

2 Millionth Nissan Qashqai Produced

Nissan is surprised to find that it has once again made automotive history after the two millionth production of the Nissan Qashqai at its Sunderland, UK facility. Perhaps more shocking, the Japanese automaker was able to accomplish this milestone faster than any other model in the history of the UK car industry. The historical model which rolled off the production line a few days ago was a Magnetic Red model in the new N-TEC grade and is destined for the UK. Nissan Reports Net Income for Half of FY2014

Nissan Motor Co., announced its financial reports for the first six months of its financial year to September 30, 2014. In spite of volatile economic conditions in several markets, Nissan has been able to maintain a strong demand for new products, rising sales in the key North American market, and the favorable impact of the yen correction against the U.S. dollar. Nissan’s operating profit rose to $2.54 billion for the first half of the 2014 fiscal year – representing a 5.1% margin on net revenues. “Nissan successfully overcame challenging market conditions in the first-half of the fiscal year, delivering solid revenues and profitability amid encouraging demand for our latest models,” said Carlos Ghosn, president and chief executive officer.
