Nissan Partners with BMW to Bring DC Fast Chargers to U.S.

In an effort to make EVs easier to adopt, Nissan has partnered with BMW to build out the U.S. electric infrastructure. The two automakers have covered 19 states thus far, installing over 120 chargers to-date. These DC Fast Chargers can refuel a battery to 80% capacity in under 30 minutes. Even more exciting is that these DC Fast Chargers aren’t OEM-specific. Meaning that you can charge your Nissan LEAF or BMW i3, but also other brands of EVs. The only requirement is that the car supports one of the two connections built into each charger (CHAdeMO or CCS). Nissan’s EZ-Charge cards also work with the new stations, providing even more ease and convenience. Nissan leads a growing number of automakers who recognize that the “electrification” of our vehicles is not just a trend, but an inevitability that requires a significant supporting infrastructure. If you haven’t yet driven the award-winning 2016 Nissan LEAF, what are you waiting for? Stop by Cardinale Nissan in Seaside today, and join those in the know.
