17-Mile Drive was described as one of America’s Most Scenic Drives by Travel + Leisure magazine. It winds down the open and beautiful coastline this county has, passing by iconic golf courses like Pebble Beach and gorgeous overlooks. At Huckleberry Hill you can view the ocean as it is framed by the Monterey Pines forest, and The Restless Sea stop provides an amazing view of the turbulent Pacific waves. Along the way you can also stop at several beaches that animals call home, including sea lions, otters and many species of birds.

Famous Stops
While nature accounts for many of the best stops on the route, there are several man-made locations that shouldn’t be missed. The Pebble Beach Golf Course is open to the public for putting and a tour of the incredible clubhouse. Afterward, be sure to head over to the Tap Room, a dedicated golf pub that is filled with historic memorabilia from the five U.S. Opens that have been held over the years at Pebble Beach. There are also a number of boardwalks along the way with different shops and entertainers.
