Nissan LEAF Carwings to Receive Modifications

Nissan LEAF owners have been able to manage their charging schedule and check their charging status through a communication system called Carwings. This technology was offered to the first LEAF owners of the first U.S. mass produced electric vehicles – this app allows drivers to get familiarized with their vehicle and establish a charging routine. In the first year of production, this application was very useful, however, now, almost four years later, the Japanese automaker plans to get more from the Carwings app. Nissan plans to get Carwings to provide information about the battery’s health so that the owner is aware of what its current state is. This idea surfaced after several LEAF customers, living in hot-weather locations, complained that their LEAF batteries were losing capacity at faster rates than usual.
