Nissan Adding 1,000 Jobs to its Smyrna Plant

 

Nissan recently announced that the Tennessee auto manufacturing sector plans to bring 1,000 new jobs to Smyrna as part of a $160 million expansion. The automaker plans to build a new supplier park at its auto assembly plant in Tennessee. The new project will be up to 1.5 million square feet and should be completed in 2017 – the company announced a similar supplier park at its Canton Mississippi facility in 2013. Gov. Bill Haslam said: “Nissan and Tennessee have enjoyed a long and successful partnership, and today’s announcement is another significant milestone in our history together.” Jose Munoz, Executive Vice President with Nissan Motor Co. said: “This project is a key component to the long-term sustainability of our U.S. business as we close in on a goal of 10% U.S. market share.” If you would like to read the full article please click on the link below:
