Nissan Plans to Improve U.S. Production

 

Nissan’s global sales have decreased 1.8% year-over-year to 442,466 units and Nissan’s global production in November also decreased 5.9% year-over-year to 434,202 units. Although there has been a slight decrease in production and sales, Nissan North America Senior Vice President, Fred Diaz, said: “Through November, Nissan has set an all-time yearly sales record in 2014.” Due to an increase in domestic production, Nissan plans to expand production at its Mississippi plant by improving way in which vehicle parts arrive to the assembly line. The Canton plant is distant from the central auto industry which is why Nissan would like its most critical suppliers close to avoid disruption.
