Japanese auto maker Nissan Motor Company has outdone itself with the 2016 Altima. Beginning as a compact car, the Altima has evolved into a mid-sized family sedan that portrayed avant-garde looks and exceptional handling and performance.

The 2016 Nissan Altima, as with the other models, also stands as a shining example of Nissan’s constant dedication toward excellence. After having undergone severe overhauling, both on the outside and the inside, Nissan unveiled the 2016 Altima much to the joy of every loyal supporter of the brand.

The Altima comes fitted with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 182 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque, making it one of the most powerful mid-sized sedans on the market currently. The power from the engine is delivered to the front wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The simulated stepped gears help the driver feel like the vehicle is more of a conventional automatic. The mileage is excellent with fuel economy clocked in at 31 miles per gallon combined.

The higher trims of the 2016 Altima feature a 3.5-liter V6 engine that shoots out 270 horsepower and 251 pound-feet of torque. This raw power enables the Altima to reach 60 miles per hours in a mere 6.2 seconds, which not only makes it very powerful, but also one of the fastest sedans out there. This delivers a fuel economy of 26 miles per gallon combined, which is rather good for a mid-sized sedan.

The Nissan Altima comes with the brand’s standard safety features including a rearview camera, frontal and side curtain airbags, antilock brakes, and stability and traction control. You also have automatic collision notification, stolen vehicle locating services, and emergency assistance.
