A Quick Preview Of The All New 2018 Nissan Leaf

Each summer, Monterey car dealerships hold sales in order to make room for the 2018 lineups that will be arriving shortly. Thanks to the success of the 2017 Nissan Leaf and the rumors of self-driving capabilities, the 2018 Nissan Leaf is highly anticipated among car reviewers. Nissan has already released a teaser featuring limited shots of the new design, but recently the test version of the car was photographed during a live test drive. Here are a few things to know about the new Leaf before it arrives at Cardinale Nissan.

Improved Efficiency

While cars like the Leaf don’t directly require gas, they can only travel for a certain range before needing to be recharged. The 2018 Leaf will have a massively improved range, almost doubling the effective range to over 200 miles. Along with the added convenience, this makes longer journeys more manageable. To also aid with recharging, Nissan has constructed thousands of stations around the country which new Leaf owners can use for free for two years as part of the No Charge To Charge program.

Expanded Design

Thanks to the power and efficiency improvements, Nissan was also able to make the cabin and trunk space larger. The car is now similar in size and shape to a sedan, and the overall design is bolder, sharper and better looking. Not only will you save money driving the #Leaf, you can also look good doing it.

Cardinale Nissan is the best place to test drive new and used cars in Monterey and to find a great deal on a Nissan. To see all of our latest offers and vehicles, head online to www.cardinalenissan.com.

Experience The Best Lineup Of Fuel Efficient Cars In America At Cardinale Nissan

Summer leads to generally higher gas prices, so people are always looking for ways to be more fuel efficient and lower their carbon footprint. One of the most significant sources of pollution is transportation, and there are many older vehicles that have a low EPA fuel rating. This leads to greater emissions and more severe ozone warnings. Thanks to Nissan’s award winning hybrid and electric car lineup though, it’s easy to save gas and the environment at the same time, so head over to Cardinale Nissan today.

Nissan Leaf

Electric cars are predicted to be the way of the future thanks to their incredible efficiency, compatibility with self-driving systems and very little need for Nissan car service. Nissan’s engineers have work hard to design a battery that will keep the car going for over 100 miles without recharging. And, thanks to Nissan’s new No Charge To Charge program, there are thousands of free charging stations all around the country that will have your car ready to go again in about 20 minutes.

Nissan Rogue

For people who don’t want to make the full switch to an electric car, a hybrid model like the #Rogue is a great middle ground. The crossover design is more aerodynamic and spacious than ever before, and you now have the option to choose between another row of seating or added cargo space. The hybrid component makes driving on city road less taxing and emission free, which gives the car an EPA estimated 34 mpg combined.

The Nissan Leaf Dominates Electric Car Sales Worldwide

Nissan Leaf Sales

Electric car sales have always been an important statistic, and the Nissan Leaf has always outsold the competition. It has a long heritage of improvements and technological breakthroughs since its introduction as the first commercial electric car. In 2017, several contenders were introduced into the market, but none can compare to the reliability, affordability and performance that the #Leaf offers. To see how you can own the bestselling electric car, come down to a Monterey car dealership like Cardinale Nissan.

Jose Pontes is one of the leading experts on trends in electric car sales, and has been monitoring them since 2008. He provides reliable and accurate information for technological journals and articles, and his recent EV Sales blog compared several brands from January to February. During this period the Nissan Leaf outsold the competition by far, including big brands like Tesla and Chevy. The race wasn’t even close, with the Leaf beating the next highest seller by 8,000 units. Looking forward, the Leaf is expected to perform even better with the release of the redesigned and more efficient 2017 Nissan Leaf.

Numerous factors have contributed to the Leaf’s success, and all are product of continual refinement over the years by Nissan. Affordability is key to any electric car’s success, especially for drivers looking to make the switch from gas-powered vehicles. All Nissan Leaf buyers also receive two years of free charging at thousands of stations around the country, so you can always be ready for the road ahead.

Nissan Reveals Latest Development In Its Car Sharing Program

From getting a taxi to driving along in your own Nissan Altima from Cardinale Nissan, there are several great ways to get around the city. One of the newer developments is car sharing, like ZipCar, but none of these services provide easy access to clean transportation. To solve this problem, Nissan has developed their own car sharing platform that will debut in Japan and rapidly expand to other continents. To go along with this service, Nissan has also designed a small and completely electric car which has been nicknamed “Twizy”.

Monterey car dealerships like Cardinale Nissan provide great cars for people who need the mobility, but for those who don’t travel too far for work or vacation it can be simpler to use a car sharing service. Around most major cities, Nissan will be placing the Twizy in major travel hubs, where people can rent and return cars to. Since the Twizy is electric, the hubs will also act as charging centers so drivers never have to be worried about running out of juice.

Nissan and its partner Renault have been developing the #Twizy for a couple of years, and it is the perfect choice for a new car sharing program. Currently they only sit up to two people, but Nissan will likely extend the program in the future to include the Nissan Leaf, which can sit four to five. The Twizy can reach a top speed of around 50 miles per hour and has a total range of around 60 miles, which is ideal for short trips. The biggest benefit however is the electric design, which has no emissions and is free of pollutants.

While car sharing programs have their benefits, for families or people who drive more often a new or used car from Cardinale Nissan is best choice for getting around the Monterey area. Be sure to check out our latest deals online at www.cardinalenissan.com for stop by to talk with our friendly sales team.

Nissan Unveils The First Electric Sports Car Fit For The Track

It’s not often that you can find both smart and sporty in a car, especially if you are looking for something fuel efficient. Many of the hybrids or electric cars on the market right now don’t have the engine power needed to race down an open road, while sport cars generally feature a low fuel efficiency. Nissan has been hard at work unifying these two concepts and they recently unveiled a new prototype EV sports car, the Blade Glider, which you can find in the near future at Cardinale Nissan.

The first look at this new racer came in a viral video which featured famous actress Margot Robbie piloting the twists and turns of the Monaco streets. In the video, she shows off the car’s pinpoint maneuverability and speed by driving the car around an iconic part of the racing world: the Fairmont Hairpin. The car has a never before seen the powertrain electric engine which was built by UK-based Williams Advanced Engineering. In under five seconds this new masterpiece can easily accelerate the car to 60 miles per hour with a maximum speed of 115 mph. It is capable of this amazing feat thanks to two 130 kW electric motors for each wheel that utilizes the latest EV technology to the fullest.

Another significant feature that sets the #BladeGlider apart from the competition is its seat configuration, with one driver’s seat in the “nose” of the car and two in back. This creates a more immersive driving experience that is similar to a pilot in a cockpit. The Blade Glider has been in development for over 4 years, tracing its origins to a prototype made in early 2013. Using the latest electric motor innovations and this design, the Blade Glider will be the first car of its type.

At Cardinale Nissan, you can find the best deals on all new and certified pre-owned Nissan models—and one day you’ll find the Blade Glider when it hits Monterey car dealerships. We also offer top of the line Nissan car service, so call or book an appointment online at www.cardinalenissan.com.

Nissan Develops New Quick Charging Ports For Electric Cars

nissan-logo While they may have been seen as some experimental type of car in the past, electric cars are gradually becoming more mainstream. The last couple of years have brought major growths in this energy sector, thanks to partnerships and research regarding efficiency and environmentally friendliness. Electric cars now aren’t much more expensive than an internal combustion engine powered car, and their number of other features is also growing. #Nissan has also been working on new ways to make charging faster, more efficient and more accessible.

Heading to the pump and getting a full tank of gas is more expensive than the electricity to power a car, but the time investment has always been much greater. You can spend only five minutes at a gas station, but many electric cars in the past had charge times upwards of an hour. At home or during work this isn’t a big deal as you can just leave it overnight or during the day, but for road trips or vacations it can slow you down. Fortunately, Nissan has designed and installed dual port DC fast chargers that are capable of bringing an electric car to 80% power in under half an hour.

Nissan’s No Charge to Charge program is responsible for installing these high tech stations in order to bring clean energy to Nissan Leaf owners. Each person who buys or leases a new or pre-owned Leaf will receive two years of charging at the stations, at no cost to them. Nissan and BMW have partnered together in order to bring even more Combined Charging Systems to additional areas this coming year, and Nissan estimates that soon 90% of Leaf owners will be able to enjoy this feature.

Nissan Delivers Powerful Keynote At International Auto Show

nissan logo

To discuss how the future of car design is shaping up, car companies gathered at the North American International Auto Show. CEOs and lead engineers presented keynote speeches to talk about their views, including Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn. Ghosn has always been a big voice for change in car design, and in his discussion he listed numerous areas that need to be addressed in the coming future. He put his biggest emphasis on four areas: autonomy, self-driving cars, applications and electric cars.

Autonomous/Self-Driving Cars: Both of these areas are similar, with #autonomous cars requiring minimal user input. These revolutionary cars are slated to arrive in 2020 for companies like Nissan, and Ghosn urged others to stick to that promise. Look for these cars to make a big impact.

Applications: All cars nowadays have some sort of smartphone integrations, and adding more apps to that is important. Voice activated commands and adding events to your calendar are just the tip of the research iceberg. Autonomous and self-driving cars will also become safer if they can connect to other cars and know their intended paths

.

Electric Cars: This type of car is actually becoming much more popular and affordable, but continuing to make these cars more accessible and easy is another hurdle to overcome. These cars do have several advantages including no emissions and a charging time of just over 30 min.

Nissan Reveals New Leaf Prototype At The Consumer Electronics Show

2016-nissan-leaf-rear-profile-black-largeEach year vendors from all across the country gather for the Consumer Electronics Show, which happened to be in the first week of January this year. This exciting gathering gives a preview of all the most interesting toys and tech that will find their ways to shelves during the year.  Nissan was one of the car companies who showed up to the event, and they revealed their upcoming changes to the Leaf.

The Chevy Bolt EV and the Tesla Model 3 are some tough competitors, but Nissan has spent countless hours into perfecting the ultimate long-range electric car. The new Leaf is just one component of Nissan’s Intelligent Mobility project, which is working on developing more advanced electric and autonomous cars. These two modes of transportation will be the face of driving within only a couple of years, so Nissan is working to get an early head start in the competition. These latest changes all continue to make the Leaf one of the hardest working and most affordable electric cars.

On display at the show was a prototype of the upcoming Leaf that included all the new features. The most important additions are the boosting of the range to around 200 miles. This is a big leap from previous versions. It will also include superior handling and a simpler regenerative braking setup so even new drivers will be able to drive an electric car with ease. Also in the pipeline for the Leaf is the implementation of #ProPILOT technology that can will self-drive the car on certain highways.

Nissan Looks To Expand Electric Car Development Platform

nissan-logo

Throughout the years, electric cars have gradually become more developed as a practical way to power a vehicle, rather than a sort of experimental way to cut down on emissions. A big part of this has been the steady increase in available battery life and range, that makes these cars far better suited for everyday drivers. Additionally, there has been a large increase in charging speed and the number of charging stations all around the country. In order to continue this trend of positive growth, Nissan, Renault and Mitsubishi are joining their efforts in electric car development by merging their platforms.

These mergers provide several immediate benefits. The companies can start sharing their latest research and tests, and can avoid redundant research ventures that would consume valuable time and resources. Each company also has their own areas of specialization, and combining these will ensure the final vehicle is elegant and well-crafted. Renault and Nissan have created many positive projects together in the past, and their joint efforts along with Mitsubishi will hopefully jump start an era of exciting breakthroughs.

#ElectricCars are understandably more expensive than traditionally cars, but can quickly make up that difference with various government incentives and fuel savings. This collaboration is designed to bring prices down as similar level as comparable gas cars. If this group effort can output more cars like the Nissan Leaf, and make them more cost and fuel efficient, then it can have a positive impact on the environment. The Nissan Leaf is already an economic option for drivers, and has one of the longest ranges currently offered.

Nissan’s New Engine Design May Replace Current Hybrid Options

Nissan Note

When it comes to brilliant design and innovation, Nissan is always coming out with something new. The latest endeavor of their engineers is something known as e-Power, which will be found on the all new Nissan Note. It’s a new twist on the typical internal combustion engines that powers most cars, and operates much like a hybrid vehicle. Come explore this latest technological masterpiece that has already found a perfect home in upcoming Nissan cars.

The typical hybrid engine operates in a simple way. It still has a regular internal combustion engine, but it is supported by an electric motor that is powered by a battery. By using a method known as recursion, the car can charge the battery while the car is braking. This ensures great gas mileage for hybrid cars as the engine can run on both gasoline and electricity depending on how fast you need to go.

An e-powered car functions a little bit differently. The motor works primarily as a generator, creating electricity which charges the battery. The internal combustion engine itself is not directly linked to the wheels, but rather an electrical engine is. This is what provides the necessary power to get the wheels turning. Most importantly, these changes allow the internal combustion engine to operate at the revs best suited for a reduced power consumption, saving on electricity and gas. The best part about these engines is that they can provide horsepower levels similar to regular gas powered cars, meaning you don’t have to compromise.

Come check out our newest lineup of cutting edge cars at Cardinale Nissan, especially when #ePower arrives in the latest models. You can also find us online at www.cardinalenissan.com. We want to be your dealership!
