Nissan Reports Tremendous Increase in LEAF Range


Nissan is preparing to debut the second generation of the Nissan LEAF, electric vehicle, and planning to debut the new model in 2016. Nissan reports that the new LEAF will use new battery technology for an increased driving range. The new model will also adopt a new traditional hatchback exterior design. The current model is equipped with a lithium-ion battery pack for an EPA-estimated range of 84 miles on a full charge – the new redesigned LEAF will use a new battery with greater energy density that will have a range that could be as high as 180 miles on one single charge.
