Nissan has recently launched its eighth-generation Maxima, which was redesigned for 2016 – the racier exterior styling, with a floating roof and beltline, an enlarged front grill and a fastback rear design. Nissan claims that the new Maxima will re-emphasize the “4-door sports car” – the car is now 79 pounds lighter and sits on a more rigid chassis. Pierre Loing, Nissan North America product planning Chief, said: “This is where we will be different. The large segment has been an aging demographic, and sales are falling for the segment as a whole.
