The 2022 Nissan Pathfinder is a midsize three-row SUV with seating for up to eight passengers. After skipping a model year, the Pathfinder returns with a complete redesign that sports new interior and exterior styling, along with the latest technology features. The driving experience is even better than before, thanks to a new nine-speed automatic transmission, a new all-wheel-drive system, revised suspension tuning, and retuned steering. Buyers at the Nissan dealership near Gilroy also appreciate the 2022 Pathfinder’s quiet and comfortable cabin, user-friendly infotainment system, and excellent fuel economy.
While standard seating is for eight, available second-row captain’s chairs bring the seating capacity to seven. The second-row seats now move forward at the touch of a button, making it easier to get in and out of the third row, even with child safety seats attached. The third row seats two adults comfortably, and there’s plenty of room for cargo. According to the Gilroy area Nissan dealer, there’s 16.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row.
The automotive media gives the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder high praise. The Car Connection writes:
“The 2022 Nissan Pathfinder packs a value with good standard features and a roomy interior. ... The redesigned Pathfinder doesn’t try to be a performance crossover or an electrified dynamo, but it is very good at what it is meant to do: hauling up to eight passengers and towing up to 6,000 pounds in comfort and with the latest technology.”
The 2022 Nissan Pathfinder is offered in four trim levels: S, SV, SL and Platinum. Powering the Pathfinder is a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque, matched to a nine-speed automatic transmission. All models get standard front-wheel drive and available all-wheel drive. Captain’s chairs are optional on the SV and SL trims and come standard in the Premium.
Car and Driver tested the 2022 Pathfinder and clocked a time of 6.7 seconds for the zero-to-60 mph sprint. EPA-estimated fuel economy is rated at up to 21 mpg city/27 mpg highway.*
The 2022 Pathfinder base S trim gets a long list of standard safety and infotainment features, including the Nissan Connect system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite of safety technologies. Safety Shield 360 includes high-beam assist, blind-spot warning, emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and front and rear automatic lane-departure warning.
Step up to the SV trim, and you’ll get ProPilot Assist. This semi-autonomous driving system utilizes steering assist and adaptive cruise control. Other standard features include NissanConnect Services powered by SiriusXM and a WiFi hotspot.
The SL trim adds an upgraded 9-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and a 360-degree camera.
At the top of the lineup, the Platinum trim comes with semi-aniline leather seats, a 10.8-inch head-up display, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and wireless charging.
