Buyers looking for a small, stylish subcompact SUV that comes with a price tag that won’t take a bite out of their budget should take a good look at the 2021 Nissan Kicks. The smallest SUV in the Nissan lineup, the Kicks is excellent for negotiating urban spaces and for buyers who want all the advantages afforded by SUVs without the size usually associated with full-size models. Watsonville Nissan shoppers appreciate the Kicks’ spacious interior for its class. They also enjoy the beautiful styling, long list of standard features, and exceptional fuel economy the Kicks brings to the table.
According to the Nissan dealership serving Watsonville, the Kicks gets some new features for 2021. New styling includes restyled 17-inch wheels, a more prominent grille, sleek headlights and taillights, and redesigned front and rear bumpers. The optional contrasting black roof is now available for more exterior paint colors. All models now have standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the SV and SR models come with an 8.0-inch infotainment system. The top-of-the-line SR trim gets an available Wi-Fi hotspot. Nissan’s designer gave a fresh new look to the front-seat armrest, center console, door-trim panels and dash air vents. New options include adaptive cruise control and an electronic parking brake with auto brake-hold.
The 2021 Nissan Kicks gets thumbs-up from the automotive media. Car and Driver writes: “With a bold exterior look and a surprisingly spacious cabin, the 2021 Nissan Kicks is a stylish small SUV with a practical side.”
The 2021 Kicks seats five passengers and is offered in three trim levels: S, SV and SR. All models employ a 1.6-liter four-cylinder powerplant developing 122 horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque, connected to a CVT that sends power to the front wheels. The 2021 Nissan Kicks is very fuel-efficient, delivering an EPA-estimated 31 mpg city/36 mpg highway.*
The Nissan Kicks S is the base trim, but it still gets a host of standard features, including an integrated key with push-button start, a tilt/telescopic steering wheel, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, roof rails, air conditioning, cruise control, Nissan’s Safety Shield 360 system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Siri Eyes Free, USB connectivity and Bluetooth.
The SV trim comes with disc brakes at all four corners, 17-inch alloy wheels, a center console with an armrest, automatic climate control, an electronic parking brake with hill-hold, intelligent cruise control, intelligent key, an 8-inch touchscreen and NissanConnect Services.
The top-level SR trim features dark chrome accents, LED exterior lighting, upgraded seat fabric, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, painted roof rails, a rear spoiler, and an intelligent 360-degree around-view monitor.
The SR gets an available Premium Package, which adds a heated steering wheel, heated Prima-Tex simulated leather front seats, a Wi-Fi hotspot, an eight-speaker Bose Personal Plus Audio system, and a new security system.
